Alloy L-605 Filler Metal is used for the gas metal arc welding (GMAW) of HAYNES® 25 alloy, known also as Alloy L-605.
The deposited weld metal has excellent strength, good oxidation resistance to 980°C (1800°F), very good sulfidation resistance, and relatively good resistance to wear and galling.
This alloy has been used extensively in jet engine parts including turbine blades, combustion chambers, turbine rings and afterburner parts.
