SIDER 385 (904) Stainless Steel SAW, high alloyed, highly corrosion resistant, wire

SIDER 385 (904) Stainless Steel SAW, high alloyed, highly corrosion resistant, wire

Filler Metal SIDER 385 (904L) is used for welding materials of similar chemical composition, which are used for fabrication of equipment and vessels for handling of sulfuric acid and many chloride containing media. This filler metal may also find applications for joining Type 317L material where improved corrosion resistance in specific media is needed.
This wire can also be used for joining high alloyed, fully austenitic stainless steels such as W.-Nr. 1.4539 (ASTM B-625 and 904L), which have high corrosion resistance in sulphuric and phosphoric acids and good pitting resistance in acidic solutions containing chlorides and fluorides, such as seawater.
In order to reduce the propensity for fissuring and hot cracking, the low melting constituents such as carbon, silicon, and phosphorus are controlled to lower levels in this alloy.
