ALLOY B-3 Welding Electrode

ALLOY B-3 Welding Electrode

Alloy B-3 Welding Electrode is used for the shielded metal arc welding of HASTELLOY® B-3 alloy materials.
The weld metal has excellent resistance to hydrochloric acids at all temperatures and also withstands hydrogen chloride, sulphuric, acetic and hydrofluoric acids.
The alloy has improved thermal stability and resistance to stress corrosion cracking over alloy B-2.
The electrode can be used for the overlay and cladding of carbon and stainless steels with no butter layer needed. The coating is designed for great operability, especially in out-of-position welding.
The electrodes provide excellent operability for groove and fillet welding in the downhand position and the electrodes through 3.2 size diameter are suitable for all position welding.
Power supply: direct current, electrode positive.

Typical Welding Current:
Ø 2.4 A 40-65 -- Ø 3.2 A 65-90 -- Ø 4 A 90-125 -- Ø 5 A 125-160

Typical Mechanical Properties:
Tensile Strength: MPa 690 (psi 100,000)
Elongation, (4d) 25%

Welding Electrodes are available in a variety of diameters: from 2.4 to 5 mm.
