ALLOY X Mig Welding Rod Filler Metal

ALLOY X Mig Welding Rod Filler Metal

Filler Metal Alloy X welding wire can be used with the gas metal arc welding (Mig) and plasma welding processes. Alloy X is used extensively in high temperature applications including engine tailpipes, turbine blades, afterburner components, nozzle vanes, cabin heaters and combustion liners.
Principal Design Features:
Alloy X is a Nickel-Chromium-Iron-Molybdenum alloy with an exceptional combination of oxidation resistance, ease of fabrication and high temperature strength. It has also been found to be exceptionally resistant to stress corrosion cracking in petrochemical applications.
Applications:
The alloy finds use in petrochemical process equipment and gas turbines in the hot combustor zone sections. Also used for structural components in industrial furnace applications because of the excellent oxidation resistance.
Welding:
Welding by conventional processes such as MIG can readily be done with this alloy. Preheating and/or post heating are not required.
Mechanical property data indicates Filler Metal Alloy X should be an appropriate material as an alternative to HAYNES® 556® alloy for use as welding filler material to join HAYNES® HR-120® alloy.
Caution should be used, however, with respect to certain corrosive environments such as sulfidizing environments.

Typical Mechanical Properties:
Tensile Strength: MPa 690 (psi. 100,000) at RT
Service Temperature up to 1000°C.

Filler metals available on spool and in a variety of sizes and diameters.
