SIDERINOX 410 NiMo Stainless Steel GMAW Wire

SIDERINOX 410 NiMo Stainless Steel GMAW Wire

Filler metal SIDERINOX 410 NiMo wire specifically designed for welding UNS S41500 wrought stainless steel, CA-6NM (UNS J91540) cast steel and other similar 13Cr4NiMo steels commonly found on hydroelectric turbines and other similar applications.
These base metals are also being used for wellhead and valve applications under sour gas conditions in the petroleum industry.
To prevent stress corrosion cracking, the NACE requirement is 23 HRC or below.
This usually means the weldments need to be double tempered or annealed and double tempered with intermediate cooling to at least ambient temperature.
The corrosion resistant properties make this an ideal choice for martensitic and martensitic ferritic castings.
In addition this wire is used where cavitation wear is caused by corrosion from rapidly flowing water.
The weld metal deposit of this wire has improved strength, low temperature toughness, corrosion and erosion resistance compared to the plain 12Cr steels (type 410). This wire will provide a more crack resistance deposit than type 410 weld metal for joining type 410 base metal.
Preheat and interpass temperatures of not less than 150°C (300°F) are recommended during welding. Maximum heat input 15 kJ/cm.
Post-weld heat treatment should be between 580°C (1100°F) and not to exceed 620°C (1150°F), as higher temperatures may result in hardening.
. In the welding of the CA-6NM castings and similar components, a preheat of 150°C (300°F) and an interpass temperature of 200°C·315°C (400-600°F) with a slow cool to ambient should be used. A heat-treated between 580°C and 620°C (1100 and 1150°F) for one hour per inch of thickness is normally required.
